The Semrush Home page (formerly the SEO Projects Dashboard) provides you with widgets of data related to your work in Semrush. These widgets provide a snapshot of the most important metrics from your configured tools, enabling you to monitor your marketing efforts from a central dashboard.
There are two main ways to monitor a domain on your Home page:
- Folder list: Create a Folder to track various metrics for a specific website or client. All of your existing projects have been automatically converted into folders.
- Domains for monitoring: Add a domain to this separate widget for a quick overview of its key organic and paid performance metrics.
This quick guide will help you better understand what all the dashboard metrics mean.
Folder List
Your folders are displayed as a list on the Home page. Each folder serves as a workspace that brings together multiple toolkits, displayed as blocks with key metrics from the tools you've configured.

At a glance, you can monitor metrics such as AI visibility, organic traffic, backlinks, ad performance, and review counts, depending on the toolkits you're using. Supported toolkits include SEO, AI Visibility, Traffic & Market, Local, Content, Social, and Ads.
If a tool hasn't been configured yet, its block will include a button to help you get started. You may also see blocks for toolkits you haven't purchased yet, displayed as recommendations.
Customizing Your Toolkit Visibility
To reduce clutter and keep your workspace focused, you can control which toolkits are visible inside your folders.
To adjust your view:
- Locate the Folders section on your Home page.
- Click on the Toolkits shown drop-down menu in the filter area.
- Check or uncheck the toolkits (such as SEO, Local, or Content) to show or hide their corresponding rows inside your folders.

Note:
- Hiding a toolkit only removes its specific metric row from view — your full folder structure and the folders themselves are never hidden.
- At least one toolkit must remain selected at all times.
- The system will automatically remember your last selection, so your dashboard will remain exactly as you left it the next time you log in.
Table View Constraints
If you switch your folder list to Table View (SEO only), please note that any folders without a configured domain (no-domain folders) will be hidden automatically. This is because non-SEO data is not available in this view.

Domains for monitoring Widget
This widget allows you to monitor key metrics for any domain, even without setting up a full folder.

The metrics in this widget are pulled from our core tools:
- Organic Keywords: The number of keywords bringing users to the website via Google's top 100 organic search results.
- Organic Traffic: The estimated number of users expected to visit the website in the upcoming month.
- Paid Keywords: The number of keywords bringing users to the website via Google's paid search results.
- Paid Traffic: The estimated number of users expected to visit the website from paid search in the upcoming month.
- Ref. Domains: The total number of referring domains linking to the website.
- Authority Score: A metric gauging the domain's overall quality and SEO influence. The score is based on the domain’s backlink profile and traffic.
The percentages next to each number show the change compared to the previous period. You can click on any of these metrics to navigate to the corresponding full report.
The Domains for monitoring widget supports root domains, subdomains, and subfolders. The Organic/Paid traffic and Organic/Paid keywords metrics can be shown for a subdomain or subfolder. Referring Domains and Authority Score will be shown for the root domain.
All the metrics presented in the widget are Semrush data pulled from the following tools:
- Organic Keywords and Organic Traffic from the Organic Rankings tool,
- Paid Keywords and Paid Traffic from the Advertising Research tool,
- Referring domains and Authority Score from the Backlinks tool.
To remove a domain from this widget, click the trash can icon next to its name.
