Site Audit has over 140 checks for traditional SEO issues, ranging from surface-level issues like duplicate content and broken links to technical issues like HTTPS implementation and the hreflang attribute on an international website—and now also covers emerging GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) practices.
The tool has the ability to crawl either the desktop or mobile version of a website and check up to 20,000 pages per audit (100,000 pages for the Business tier of the SEO Toolkit subscription), so it can be used for anything from a portfolio website to SMB sites, to enterprise businesses and agencies.
In addition, Site Audit is one of the tools that the Semrush Copilot AI assistant analyzes to provide tailored recommendations to improve your SEO performance. After setting up your campaign, you will receive AI-generated suggestions to guide you through your audit.
To remove a Site Audit campaign, you must delete the entire folder to which it belongs. This action will also remove all other Website monitoring campaigns within that same folder, such as Position Tracking, Backlink Audit, and On Page SEO Checker.
When you delete a folder, it is not immediately gone for good. It enters a "soft-deleted" state and can be restored by contacting our support team within 90 days. After that period, the folder will be permanently removed.
However, it is essential to note that restoring a folder only restores the folder itself, including its name and the linked domain. The Website monitoring data contained within it, such as your Site Audit campaign, will not be restored. Therefore, you should only delete a folder if you are certain you no longer need the campaign data within it.
The Site Audit tool is part of the SEO Toolkit. Usage limits vary based on your subscription tier.
Number of Pages to Crawl
Depending on the level of your account, you will be limited to crawl a certain number of pages per month:
- Without SEO Toolkit: 100 pages per month
- Pro SEO Toolkit: 100,000 pages per month
- Guru SEO Toolkit: 300,000 pages per month
- Business SEO Toolkit: 1,000,000 pages per month
Any leftover pages from your crawl budget do not roll over month to month, but your limits reset on the 1st day of every month.
